Description
The Cold Steel Gladius machete channels ancient Roman sword design into a modern brush-clearing powerhouse — the 1055 carbon steel blade is thick, hard, and holds a working edge through demanding use.
The polypropylene handle mimics the grip geometry of the historical gladius, offering exceptional control for both chopping and thrusting cuts.
A top heavy-duty machete for tactical applications, bushcraft, and survival kits where durability is non-negotiable.

**Ancient Design, Modern Authority**
Grip the gladius handle and feel the weight of history in your hand — then bring the blade down on a branch and watch it sever in a single, clean stroke.
Whether clearing a campsite or processing firewood, the Gladius turns hard yakka into something primal and deeply satisfying.
**Engineered for Impact**
Cold Steel selected 1055 carbon steel for its superior impact resistance — a blade designed to absorb shock without chipping, even when driven into hardwood.
The polypropylene handle is virtually indestructible, moulded in a single piece to eliminate weak points and tested to withstand extreme temperatures from arctic cold to desert heat.

Looking After Your Blade
Keep your blade in top nick. Give it a rinse and dry after each use to stop corrosion. Every now and then, rub a thin coat of mineral oil along the blade. Sharpen with a whetstone or honing rod at a steady angle. Store it in a sheath, knife roll, or on a magnetic strip — never chucked loose in a drawer. For carbon and Damascus steel, give it a wipe after cutting acidic foods. For folding knives, clean out the pivot and pop a drop of lubricant in to keep it opening smoothly.
