The Tina 685 budding knife is a masterpiece of German forge-craft, built for precision budding and bark work. The high-carbon blade holds a scalpel-sharp edge, and the olive wood handle develops a rich patina with years of dedicated use in the garden.

A Gardener's Heirloom

The bark lifter slips beneath cambium with the confidence only a hand-forged edge can give you.

Each budding cut carries the promise of new fruit — your craft shaping the orchard's future.

Forged in the Black Forest

Tina has hand-forged garden blades near Freiburg since 1727 — nearly three centuries of mastery.

Olive wood from Mediterranean groves is shaped and oiled to handle moisture and age with grace.

Looking After Your Blade
Keep your blade in top nick. Give it a rinse and dry after each use to stop corrosion. Every now and then, rub a thin coat of mineral oil along the blade. Sharpen with a whetstone or honing rod at a steady angle. Store it in a sheath, knife roll, or on a magnetic strip — never chucked loose in a drawer. For carbon and Damascus steel, give it a wipe after cutting acidic foods. For folding knives, clean out the pivot and pop a drop of lubricant in to keep it opening smoothly.
