Description

The Bark River Norse Viking knife combines CPM-3V powder metallurgy steel with a blade profile inspired by archaeological Viking finds — outstanding toughness and edge retention for demanding field use. A top-shelf premium Viking knife handcrafted in Michigan for collectors and serious outdoors folk who appreciate heritage design and cutting-edge steel technology.

**A Chieftain's Blade Reborn** The CPM-3V edge glides through cordage and game alike with a sharpness that Viking jarls could only have dreamt of — centuries of metallurgical progress channelled into a blade the Norsemen would recognise. Carry it on your belt through the bush and feel the bone handle warm in your grip, each trip adding character to the antique patina.
**Michigan Craft, Norse Soul** Bark River's artisans in Escanaba, Michigan hand-grind each blade from CPM-3V — a powder metallurgy steel that offers three times the toughness of conventional carbon steel at equivalent hardness. The antique bone scales are sourced, stabilised, and dyed to replicate the aged ivory and walrus bone that adorned the finest Viking-era weapons, while red fibre liners add a subtle flash of colour.

Looking After Your Blade
Keep your blade in top nick. Give it a rinse and dry after each use to stop corrosion. Every now and then, rub a thin coat of mineral oil along the blade. Sharpen with a whetstone or honing rod at a steady angle. Store it in a sheath, knife roll, or on a magnetic strip — never chucked loose in a drawer. For carbon and Damascus steel, give it a wipe after cutting acidic foods. For folding knives, clean out the pivot and pop a drop of lubricant in to keep it opening smoothly.
