Kitchen Charm

Grab the bright handle and peel a kiwi fruit in seconds—the micro-serrations grip the fuzzy skin without slipping, revealing bright green flesh in a clean spiral. Core a pear, segment a mandarin, trim a strawberry stem.

Small jobs deserve a knife that makes you smile every time you pick it up.

Savoie Simplicity

Opinel has produced essential kitchen knives in the French Alps since 1890, using the same Sandvik stainless steel found in their iconic folders for purpose-built kitchen blades.

The Primavera beech handle is painted in food-safe lacquer—a cheerful nod to the colourful markets of southern France where Opinel knives are a kitchen staple.

Looking After Your Blade
Keep your blade in top nick. Give it a rinse and dry after each use to stop corrosion. Every now and then, rub a thin coat of mineral oil along the blade. Sharpen with a whetstone or honing rod at a steady angle. Store it in a sheath, knife roll, or on a magnetic strip — never chucked loose in a drawer. For carbon and Damascus steel, give it a wipe after cutting acidic foods. For folding knives, clean out the pivot and pop a drop of lubricant in to keep it opening smoothly.
