Description
The Benchmade 9400 Osborne Auto transforms Warren Osborne's legendary 940 design into a push-button automatic with the same iconic reverse-tanto blade profile and refined lines.
CPM-S30V steel delivers exceptional edge retention and corrosion resistance, while the anodised 6061-T6 aluminium handle keeps weight minimal for all-day pocket carry.
A top-rated American automatic knife for those who want a proven design elevated by effortless one-hand deployment and Benchmade's lifetime warranty.

**The Osborne, Unleashed**
The blade fires open with a decisive snap and locks with zero play — the reverse-tanto point pierces packaging, cord, and tape with surgical intent while the belly handles every slicing task.
Slip it from your pocket, press the button, and the blade is there before your hand fully extends — the kind of mechanical responsiveness that becomes second nature within a week.
**Oregon Precision, Reinvented**
Benchmade's Oregon City facility uses state-of-the-art CNC machining to cut each blade from CPM-S30V powder metallurgy steel, then cryogenically treats and hand-sharpens every edge.
The 9400 honours Warren Osborne's original 940 design — one of the most celebrated EDC silhouettes ever created — adding a push-button automatic mechanism without altering the slim profile that defined a generation of pocket knives.

Looking After Your Blade
Keep your blade in top nick. Give it a rinse and dry after each use to stop corrosion. Every now and then, rub a thin coat of mineral oil along the blade. Sharpen with a whetstone or honing rod at a steady angle. Store it in a sheath, knife roll, or on a magnetic strip — never chucked loose in a drawer. For carbon and Damascus steel, give it a wipe after cutting acidic foods. For folding knives, clean out the pivot and pop a drop of lubricant in to keep it opening smoothly.
