Description

The Bastinelli Mako karambit is designed by Bastien Coves and handcrafted in Italy from N690 Bohler stainless steel with a stonewash finish that conceals wear and reduces glare. The compact 6cm hawkbill blade paired with contoured G10 handle scales creates a karambit that disappears on the belt yet delivers serious cutting capability. Ships with a custom Kydex sheath with adjustable retention.

Compact Authority
The Mako sits flat against your belt, invisible under a shirt until needed — the Kydex releases with a snap and suddenly you are holding a blade that fits your hand like it was molded to your grip. The compact hawkbill handles everyday cutting tasks with surprising authority, the N690 edge staying keen through weeks of daily use without touching a stone.
Italian Artisan Design
Designer Bastien Coves draws inspiration from marine predators — the Mako’s profile echoes the streamlined aggression of its namesake shark. Each knife is produced in Maniago, Italy, where N690 Bohler steel is CNC-ground and hand-finished with a stonewash treatment. The G10 handle scales are precision-contoured using 3D modeling, then hand-fitted to each blade for a seamless junction.

Knife Care & Maintenance
Keep your blade performing at its best. Rinse and dry after each use to prevent corrosion. Apply a thin coat of mineral oil to the blade periodically. Sharpen with a whetstone or honing rod at a consistent angle. Store in a sheath, knife roll, or magnetic strip — never loose in a drawer. For carbon and Damascus steel, wipe after contact with acidic foods. For folding knives, clean the pivot area and apply a drop of lubricant to ensure smooth deployment.
