Description
The Benchmade 535 Bugout redefines what a full-size EDC pocket knife can be, packing a 8.5cm CPM-S30V drop-point blade into a package that weighs just 1.85 oz. The Grivory handle provides remarkable rigidity for its weight, and the Axis lock enables ambidextrous one-hand operation. This is the knife that disappears in your pocket until the moment you need it.

Weightless Performance
You forget the Bugout is there until a package needs opening, a tag needs cutting, or an apple needs slicing — then it appears in your hand with a flick of the thumb stud, the S30V blade making quick work of whatever task presents itself. At under two ounces, this is the EDC knife that eliminates every excuse not to carry.

Oregon Engineering
Benchmade crafts every Bugout at their Oregon City facility, where CPM-S30V powder metallurgy steel is precision-ground to a 58-60 HRC hardness that balances edge retention with easy field sharpening. The Axis lock mechanism — a Benchmade innovation — uses an omega-spring-loaded pin that allows smooth one-hand opening and closing regardless of hand orientation.

Knife Care & Maintenance
Keep your blade performing at its best. Rinse and dry after each use to prevent corrosion. Apply a thin coat of mineral oil to the blade periodically. Sharpen with a whetstone or honing rod at a consistent angle. Store in a sheath, knife roll, or magnetic strip — never loose in a drawer. For carbon and Damascus steel, wipe after contact with acidic foods. For folding knives, clean the pivot area and apply a drop of lubricant to ensure smooth deployment.
