Description

The Musashi Bamboo Warrior Japanese katana is a cracking entry point into katana collecting without cutting corners on materials or authenticity. The 70cm 1060 carbon steel blade is hand-sharpened and fitted with a zinc alloy tsuba featuring a bamboo grove motif. Cotton ito over ray skin wraps the tsuka, and a bamboo-green lacquered saya provides a striking visual contrast.

Your First Blade The bamboo-green saya catches the light as you lift the katana from its stand — drawing the blade reveals a mirror of carbon steel that reflects your commitment to the art. Whether it's up on the wall or taken through basic kata forms, the Bamboo Warrior delivers the real katana experience at a price that invites you to start the journey.
The Bamboo Spirit Bamboo symbolises resilience, flexibility, and rapid growth in Japanese culture — qualities embodied in this entry katana designed to grow with its owner. The 1060 carbon steel is heat-treated for a balance of edge-holding and forgiveness, while the bamboo motif tsuba and lacquered saya celebrate the aesthetic traditions that make Japanese swords as much art objects as cutting tools.

Looking After Your Blade
Keep your blade in top nick. Give it a rinse and dry after each use to stop corrosion. Every now and then, rub a thin coat of mineral oil along the blade. Sharpen with a whetstone or honing rod at a steady angle. Store it in a sheath, knife roll, or on a magnetic strip — never chucked loose in a drawer. For carbon and Damascus steel, give it a wipe after cutting acidic foods. For folding knives, clean out the pivot and pop a drop of lubricant in to keep it opening smoothly.
